Cuando se habla de ratas, varias imágenes se nos vienen a la cabeza: las ratas gigantes de Nueva York, ratas del cine como Ratatouille, adorables hamsters, de hecho, hay muchos tipos de ratas. Pero estos animales han sido clave en descubrimientos científicos, también han sido el elemento transmisor de la peste bubónica y últimamente también se utilizan para detectar bombas y rescatar personas en caso de catástrofe natural.
