Si matan al huésped tienen más difícil el reproducirse. Si lo enferman el contacto de este con otros es menor. Los virus que más se reproducen no causan ningún daño al huésped y este puede propagarlos entre todos sus contactos físicos.
Pero esto no sucede infectándose. Infectándose el virus puede mutar en otra versión que tenga más éxito, al ser menos mortal, pero aunque el original seguirá existiendo. Que mucha gente se infecte del ébola, por ejemplo no provocará que esté sea menos mortífero, lo más probable es que la mayoría se muera. Lo que hay que evitar es contagiarse. Y lo que hay que hacer es vacunarse para que tu cuerpo pueda acabar, por él solo con el virus.
