En la versión ingles dice que hay 2000 millones de angloparlantes pero en la castellana solo pone 1500 millones. El chino se mantiene en ambas versiones. ¿que seguridad me pueden dar esos datos?. Además tampoco coinciden los hablantes de lengua materna con los de segunda lengua.
Esto te da una idea que no es posible determinar cuanta gente sabe hablar inglés en el mundo pero si cuanta gente sabe chino.

#41 I'm sorry but that is not right. There are more people who understand English than Chinese. Chinese is the language the most spoken natively, but English is the language which the most number of people spoken by natives plus second language speakers.
The truth is Chinese are two languages, Mandarin and Cantonese, they share the written system and as you probably know hanzi is ideographic, characters have meanings, so the speaker of both languages can understand them, but the spoken languages are very different, think in something like Spanish and French. The languages are related but orally incomprehensible between each other.

La realidad es que la lengua mas hablada del mundo es el Mandarín con unos 1100 millones de personas. (gracias por indicar los dos tipos de chino). El cantonés se habla "poco".
El inglés es hablado por unos 900 millones de los cuales solo unos 400 lo tienen como primera lengua.
