El museo de las computadoras en Mountain View, California no es solamente un museo de hardware pero también de software. El museo hizo publicas algunas joyas de software como el código fuente de MacPaint, Photoshop y APL y ahora también el código fuente del Apple II. Por medio de un comunicado el museo expreso su satisfacción por poder publicar el código fuente del Apple II DOS para uso no comercial todo esto con permiso de Apple.

Es una ironía, en aquellos tiempos y en estos el trabajo sin la documentación es muy difícil (pero generalmente olvidan/olvidamos documentar algunas partes importantes del sistema)

Working without documentation is very difficult.
Bill brought up the point that '1adequate documentation" consisted of documentation to the point where one day1s work of programming could be reproduced in one day. He also said that Paul could tape comments, and we could type them up in the future. "
