“Las nuevas ideologías del siglo XXI son testeadas en internet”, escribí en 1997. Me quedé corto, claro. Más que test, internet iba a ser un propalador ideologías capaces de mantener el statu quo o potenciar tempestades sociales. “El mundo futuro será de los internautas”, agregué. Esa promesa, “deseada y temida”, era La Novena Conspiración. En ese ensayo, que republico después de 20 años, cité un puñado de casos singulares. Pese a sus naturales arrugas -pasó demasiado tiempo-, creo que esa nota aún puede enseñar algo, aparte de cómo escribíamos sobre conspiraciones en los umbrales del pasado final del milenio.
