Estudios revelan que mejora el control cardíaco del recién nacido y su presión arterial. Indican que la muerte súbita se relaciona con un fallo en el sistema cardíaco del bebé cuando no se produce un ajuste adecuado al ritmo del corazón o a la presión sanguínea, así como a incapacidad de poder despertarse cuando se deja de respirar o se registra una caída repentina de la presión arterial.
