Sorprende ver los resultados, y sobretodo lo poco que coinciden con lo que piensan los usuarios, al menos de momento. Podeis votar vuestra opcion favorita."
Izquierda es mejor, se asemeja al margen de una página y en un momento dado la página puede ser más ancha en función de la resolución de pantalla. (más facilmente, quiero decir)

Yo en un weblog quizás lo pondría en la derecha, porque es estándar de facto, la mayoría de weblogs lo tienen en la derecha. De todas formas la columna lateral de los weblogs, no lo acabo de ver como un menú tradicional.
Dejando a un lado los weblogs, la mayoría de webs tienen el menú de navegación arriba o a la izquierda.

Si dependiese de mí, lo pondría a la derecha. Así es menos necesario utilizar la barra de desplazamiento en ordenadores con resoluciones bajas o navegadores con ventanas chiqutinas; ya que creo que es más común leer las últimas publicadas que utilizar el menú.

Muchos blogs lo tienen en la derecha porque se parte de las plantillas estándard de software popular como el WordPress, p.e.

Sí, este es el elemento clave en una página web. Todo lo demás es irrelevante comparado con la colocación de la barra lateral.
mmm... yo lo pondría arriba y mediante menús desplegables, así ocupa menos y deja más espacio para texto e imágenes
